Diving into the virtual world

Virtual world experience for me feels "Almost" similar to the real world experience. In the real world, everything is real and defined by laws of physics whereas in the virtual world it can be defined by the creator of the virtual reality. Virtual world makes me feel like I am an illusion of the real world. The entire experience of walking, viewing objects in three dimensions, object's physics is lively. However, additional features like teleportation, scaling, flying, speed etc remind that the world is virtual.

Cues like changing the view as we move for instance, as we move closer to an object it appears bigger and vice-versa help virtual world making it feel like a real one.Defining physics for objects like weight, colliders, speed, way they react to gravity etc and adding light & sound effects also makes the virtual world Lively. From my experience, I opine that moving or objects that have a motion is hard to replicate.I added a water fountain to my office area but it was hard to replicate the water motion. Also for instance, if we need to configure that an object if fragile and breaks on contact with the floor, it is hard to replicate the way it breaks in virtual reality as it depends on factors like landing point, the angle of fall and the broken pieces should be random.Additionally, no matter how realistic we built our virtual world we can never be given the feel of touch, smell, taste which is the reason why it only feels "Almost" real.
